Redesigning the book cover for author Jeffery Boakye’s Hold Tight, a powerful exploration of the Black British experience for those born after 1980, which also delves into the cultural significance of grime music. This project provided an opportunity to collaborate and experiment with various design approaches.
The goal was to capture the raw energy and cultural relevance of grime music while reflecting the themes of identity, resilience, and the transformative power of art. I explored a dynamic mix of typography, imagery, and color to create a cover that resonates with both the narrative and its intended audience.
The final design is a visual synthesis of musical vibrancy and narrative depth, crafted to engage readers and honor the rich cultural context of the text.
